About every two years, "D'Art et de soie" organizes an exhibition with skilful artists. In 2008, from 24th June to the 4th of July, an original exhibition "Expression textile" was held in the "Patio de St Mandé" near Paris.

Fourteen artists took part in it. Ten French artists from "D'art et de Soie", two guest German artists from the association "Kunstvereinseide": Monika Engel and Gabriella Schaufuss and two guest Belgian artists, Marie Jeanne Weerts from the association "Habotaï" and Rita Trefois.

Through these selected works, we wanted to promote silk painting and textile creation. We wanted to show that silk creation besides its use in fashion and decoration, has an artistic area opened to a free expression mixing many techniques. People could admire many different works using a great variety of material and expression forms : hangings, three dimensional works, light effects, sewing embellishment. Many techniques of painting or dyeing were used too : batik, water painting, monotypes, screen-printing, printing in wax, shibori, nuno felting.

This exhibition was really successful, visitors did appreciate its great quality and creativity.
