Every year, the Flemish Association of Silk Painters in Belgium organises a competition. In 2002 the theme was "Animals and Water". More than 60 paintings were submitted and the jury had a hard time judging them all. The 'Groheart 2002' award was won by Annie Goossens with her marvellous work "Endless".

During the exhibition, which was held in the new exhibition hall in Meise, near Brussels, we set up a samll fashion show of silk shawls, which haad been made voluntarily by our members and which were sold in aid of "Vets Without Frontiers" (an organisation which helps African tribes living with their cattle). The exhibition was a great success, with lots of visitors discovering silk paintings for the first time, amazed by the beauty and creativity of the works... and buying them! At the end of the exhibition, the 'Visitor's Award' was given to Ilse Wuyts for her delicate work "Moonlit Dewy Cobweb". Moonlit Dewy Cobweb by Annie Goossens©
