Private Tuition in my Home Studio




I offer private tuition in silk painting, watercolour, drawing and colour-mixing from my home studio on the West Hill in Hastings.

West Hill overlooks the sea and the historic Old Town of Hastings with it's ruined Norman castle, old 'net shops' and fishing luggers on the beach. It is a picturesque area beloved by artists, providing a wealth of inspiration ranging from the fishermen's beach and sea-scapes to quaint architecture and rolling landscapes.
I have painted on silk for more years than I care to think about and my paintings and silks have earned me some recognition in this field. I love colour and am an expert colourist and offer workshops in colour-theory and colour-mixing. I am an experienced and qualified teacher having taught design on City & Guilds courses; run courses on painting, drawing and silk painting in Community Education and taught Textiles to Art Foundation and A level students at Hastings College of Art & Design. I now teach privately at home and at West Dean College in Chichester, West Sussex.

I love painting and I enjoy sharing my skills and knowledge with other painters. I prefer to teach just one or two students at home so I am able to give intensive tuition with lots of personal attention with lessons tailored to individual needs. My fees start at £195.00 (depending on the course) per day for individual tuition and this includes materials and refreshments.
